Our heart beats for Definetz
There is no question that defibrillators can save lives. However, there are certainly still too few of these devices in the right places and the devices are then often still poorly documented.
Definetz e.V. would like to change this. Founded on 6 April 2011 and recognised as a non-profit independent association has three statutory tasks.
WHERE
Documentation
Do you know where a defibrillator is? Only very few people can answer this question and if they do, is it the nearest one? After all, there is only a very short time span of 3 to 5 minutes to resuscitate a person without permanent damage.
Definetz e.V. creates and maintains the currently most comprehensive cadastre of defibrillator locations in Germany on its website.
HOW
Planning
The distribution of defibrillators today is rather random. However, it would be important to have the devices where they are needed. Definetz e.V. has dedicated itself to this task together with spatial planners from the University of Dortmund, among others.
As part of scientific work, the basis is being created for local authorities and companies to place defibrillators according to actual need.
WHY
Public relations
The topic of early defibrillation has already been taken up by numerous initiatives and is often communicated in an exemplary manner. The internet platform sees itself as a pool in which these initiatives and their work can be reflected, promoted and exchanged.

Friedrich Nölle
Friedrich Nölle, born in 1954, founded Definetz together with Dr Christian Fastenrath in April 2011 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since then. He has been Chairman of the non-profit organisation since 2016.
Dr Christian Fastenrath
The practising cardiologist Dr med. Christian Fastenrath, born in 1958, founded Definetz together with Friedrich Nölle in April 2011 and has been a member of the Executive Board ever since.
Dirk Wilke
Dirk Wilke, born in 1969, is part of the Definetz founding generation and has held various positions on the Executive Board and the extended Executive Board since then. He currently holds the position of treasurer.
Thorsten Würz
Thorsten Würz, born in 1967, has been an honorary member of the Executive Board as Secretary since 2016.

Bruni Martin, born in 1960, joined Definetz in 2015 and has been providing valuable support in the areas of finance and board work as a board assistant ever since.
