Why do we need defibrillators everywhere?
Let's start with some statistics: every person loses four of their relatives or close friends to „sudden cardiac death“ in the course of their life. In Germany, it claims 100,000 victims every year and costs the economy more than 40 billion euros a year. In Europe, it would be as if two fully occupied jumbos crashed every day. And many, if not most, of those affected could be saved! This would require two things: Firstly, we need more people who are willing to help and then there would have to be freely accessible locations for defibrillators throughout the country and information technology requirements on how to reach them quickly in an emergency.
Without a defibrillator, the chance of survival drops rapidly.
After just 10 minutes without resuscitation measures, the chance of survival is virtually 0 %.
